TV mounting
We just got our new 32” flat LCD TV last month. We replaced the old one and we’re planning to use it for my son’s room. I told the husband we could probably mount this new TV to save some space since we don’t have a big house here. I’m browsing various plasma mounts online and I was overwhelmed with so many types to choose from. There are various mounting solutions available and depending on our preference and the way we will put it in our house will be one consideration for picking the right LCD mount. In addition, we have to answer the following questions to determine the right mount for the TV…
• What surface will the mount be attached to?
• How much does the screen weigh?
• How much space is available?
• How much screen movement is ideal?
• What elevation is the screen going to be at?
This makes a guide to pick the right mount easier and more convenient.
eyeing for a coffee maker
I kept checking on various coffeemakers online particularly this type:

It’s a Grind and Brew thermal coffee maker. This stuff is one of my kitchen things wish lists however; buying one has been set aside always since I’m trying to lessen my coffee intake, haha. But I’m sure one of these days I can have my own brewing machine.
And for those coffee lover like me, I got this brewing tip in buying your coffee maker: “If you are the type who takes a while to drink your coffee in the morning, get a coffee maker that will brew into a thermal pot or carafe. Since constant heat is not applied, the coffee will not cook and will taste good for an hour or more.” Ok noted!
Now, browsing on the internet I found semi-annual sale on most of the online stores- home electronics, kitchen appliances even bags, clothes, etc… so I guess this is the right time to grab discounted items that you’ve been eyeing for. Why not do the surfing now, hehe…
Water benefits
After I read the clinislim review, which is one of the many diet pills available, it made me think about the effect of water about weight gain and weight loss. Because the human body contains so much water, rising or falling levels may cause an equal increase or decrease in our weight. Here’s an example:
Water retention with accompanying weight gain, is a common symptom of PMS and Menopause. While a very low carbohydrate diet (eg. Atkins Diet) typically leads to a loss of water (because carbs bind with water) leading to a rapid initial loss of weight. Weight loss is also a common symptom of dehydration.
So what’s the water benefits then you may ask. Although water contains no calories and may contain no micronutrients, it is an indispensable aid to digestion, nutrient absorption and waste-elimination. It also helps regulate circulation, body temperature and a host of other biochemical reactions. Water lubricates joints and maintains healthy skin. It’s worth remembering that we can exist without food for months, but without water for only a few days.
The gold investor
Ever wonder what’s the profile of a typical gold investor? Well base on what I have searched, traditionally, wealthy aristocratic European and Asian families have kept a strong percentage of their assets in gold as a protective factor. That same philosophy has caught hold in the United States over the years, particularly in the upper middle class, and there are a number of investors who buy gold bullion and add it to their portfolio on an on-going basis as part of a regular gold savings program. This has been good for gold. But the heavy buying is concentrated in the professions and among people who own their own businesses. Those with family wealth have also moved to diversify into gold in recent years. So to protect family’s wealth and have a liquid savings, gold is the best way to be.
Low Carbs Diet
With proper healthy diet and regular exercise I’m sure there’s one of these sexy costumes that will fit on me, hahaha… Well, one of the things I’ve learned from reading various tips on dieting is to inherit the low carbs diet. If you have read about the South Beach Diet, this is what they implement in most of their foods. Yes I have tried this type of diet however I didn’t make it for the Phase 1. Why? I dived in without planning and I thought I could just do it like that. So on my 3rd day of Phase 1 I felt very weak and experience the most painful headache I ever had.
So I stop and the husband said I should have prepared the list of meals ahead and ready all the ingredients needed. Well at least I have tried and I know now what approach to do.
Ok back to low carbs diet, basically carbohydrates are an important part of any healthy diet. If eaten on a regular basis, carbs do not lead to weight gain, UNLESS they are eaten to excess. Just as what I always read, “eating too much of anything and not burning it off through physical activity will lead to weight gain.” Also, whatever we add to the carbohydrates bumps up the calories. For example, the margarine or butter we put on the bread and the cream or cheese sauces we add to pasta. So if we need to lose weight, we cut down on these added fats but NOT the carbs.
That’s mainly the thing about the carbohydrates however there’s still a lot of interesting facts about carbohydrates and dieting. And it’s really good to know the different information and the correct approach for a healthy diet.
Chicken Pineapple

Cooked this last Friday as our dinner and my little boy loves it. To quote what he said, “Hmmm… another delicious food”
(he’s indeed my big fan, hahaha).
Anyway, I got the recipe from one of my online friends and was timing since I don’t have any prepared meal on that day. Good thing also I have almost all the ingredients needed….
Base from this recipe- http://www.filipinofoodstore.com/recipes/chicken-in-pineapple-pininyahan-manok.html except that I use potatoes instead of carrots (my son like potatoes), here are the steps on how I cooked it:
Ingredients:
Chicken (you can use whole chicken cut into pieces or choice of your favorite parts)
1 tsp of grated ginger
3 cloves of crushed garlic
one onion sliced
half a cup of pineapple chunks
one red bell pepper cut in cubes
2 laurel leaves (bay leaf)
1 tsp fish sauce (patis)
pepper and salt to taste
potatoes cut into quarter
1 tsp of curry powder
1/4 cup of evaporated milk
2 to 3 tbsps of cooking oil
half cup water
Procedure:
Heat cooking oil in a casserole.
Sauté garlic until lightly browned or fragrant. Add onion and ginger, stir for a minute.
Add chicken pieces, red bell peppers and stir for about three minutes or until the chicken has changed color on all sides.
Add the potatoes and the pineapple. Mix well.
Add all the spices; pepper, patis, bay leaves, curry and little salt.
Add water, let boil then simmer covered over medium low heat for about 10 to 15 minutes or until the chicken and vegetables are done.
When the juice has reduced add the evaporated milk and lower the fire and continue simmering for five more minutes. Correct seasonings to taste.
Serve immediately.
what causes bad breath
Having bad breath comes from different sources such as:
~ the foods you eat
~ poor oral hygience which includes improper brushing and flossing
~ breathing through the mouth when sleeping
~ Infections in your mouth from periodontal disease, decay, cavities or root canal problems
There are various treatment for bad breath available but seeing the right dental professionals is important in sorting things out.
If you have determined that it’s coming from the food you eat, you may want to see a doctor who can advise you on the foods you’re eating and determine whether you have acid reflux, which is a condition where acids from the stomach back up into esophagus and can burn the tissue back in your throat. Reflux can bring up partially digested food and may not only cause pain in the throat but also leave a bad taste and smell in the mouth.
Corridor-style Kitchen design

Embellish with a perfect curtain or maybe a faux wood blinds at the window, the kitchen design above will surely pass on my criteria. Though it has limitations, this corridor style or a galley style kitchen as others called it can save space and optimize the kitchen workflow. Clusters the services, i.e. water, electrical in one line togher. In addition, it saves money as stock cabinets and appliances easily fit into this design. This I guess is great if you have small house and wanted to have a stylish kitchen design.
