Water benefits
After I read the clinislim review, which is one of the many diet pills available, it made me think about the effect of water about weight gain and weight loss. Because the human body contains so much water, rising or falling levels may cause an equal increase or decrease in our weight. Here’s an example:
Water retention with accompanying weight gain, is a common symptom of PMS and Menopause. While a very low carbohydrate diet (eg. Atkins Diet) typically leads to a loss of water (because carbs bind with water) leading to a rapid initial loss of weight. Weight loss is also a common symptom of dehydration.
So what’s the water benefits then you may ask. Although water contains no calories and may contain no micronutrients, it is an indispensable aid to digestion, nutrient absorption and waste-elimination. It also helps regulate circulation, body temperature and a host of other biochemical reactions. Water lubricates joints and maintains healthy skin. It’s worth remembering that we can exist without food for months, but without water for only a few days.
Low Carbs Diet
With proper healthy diet and regular exercise I’m sure there’s one of these sexy costumes that will fit on me, hahaha… Well, one of the things I’ve learned from reading various tips on dieting is to inherit the low carbs diet. If you have read about the South Beach Diet, this is what they implement in most of their foods. Yes I have tried this type of diet however I didn’t make it for the Phase 1. Why? I dived in without planning and I thought I could just do it like that. So on my 3rd day of Phase 1 I felt very weak and experience the most painful headache I ever had.
So I stop and the husband said I should have prepared the list of meals ahead and ready all the ingredients needed. Well at least I have tried and I know now what approach to do.
Ok back to low carbs diet, basically carbohydrates are an important part of any healthy diet. If eaten on a regular basis, carbs do not lead to weight gain, UNLESS they are eaten to excess. Just as what I always read, “eating too much of anything and not burning it off through physical activity will lead to weight gain.” Also, whatever we add to the carbohydrates bumps up the calories. For example, the margarine or butter we put on the bread and the cream or cheese sauces we add to pasta. So if we need to lose weight, we cut down on these added fats but NOT the carbs.
That’s mainly the thing about the carbohydrates however there’s still a lot of interesting facts about carbohydrates and dieting. And it’s really good to know the different information and the correct approach for a healthy diet.
Before conceiving
Some helpful tips to those who wanted to be a Mommy…:)
It’s essential that you prepare to have a healthy and less stressful journey on your pregnancy….
~ Eat a well-balanced diet that includes a wide variety of healthy foods from all the basic food groups.
~ Make sure your intake of folic acid, a B vitamin is optimal to help prevent birth defects. Good sources of folic acid include prenatal vitamins, enriched breads, pastas, cereals, dried beans/lentils, asparagus, wheat germ, greens and orange juice.
~ Begin reducing intake of caffeine.
~ Establish a reasonable, regular exercise routine.
Vitamin C
Each vitamin and mineral substance meets specific body needs that one of the other compounds cannot substitute. However the lack or deficiency of one of them can sometimes interfere with another vitamin or mineral’s function. If a vitamin or mineral deficiency continues, the person can incur a related disease. On the other hand, too much of some minerals and vitamins brings on a toxic condition.
One vitamin that I make sure we are getting is Vitamin C. It is a powerful antioxidant in the body. Excellent food sources of vitamin C include broccoli, parsley, bell peppers, strawberries, cauliflower, lemons, mustard greens, Brussels sprouts, papaya, kale, cabbage, spinach, kiwifruit, cantaloupe, oranges, grapefruit, tomatoes, chard, collard greens, raspberries, peppermint leaves, asparagus, celery, fennel bulb, pineapple, and watermelon.
For Joint Pain
Not only we learn more about different joint treatments, it is also important to be aware of foods that may help joint pain. Foods that may help include:
Whole Foods ~ to nourish joints, try a big bowl of steaming oatmeal sprinkled with cinnamon, add some raisins, diced apple, toasted pumpkin seeds, and chunks banana. Wash it down with a tall glass of cold orange juice. This nutrient-dense fiber-rich breakfast can give you all the energy you need until lunchtime.
Fish ~ especially cold water fish like salmon, mackerel, halibut, herring, tuna, sardines, and cod, have high levels of omega-3 fatty acids. These omega-3 fats are used by the body to make substances that reduce inflammation.
Ginger ~ Add some zest to your salad dressing with fresh ginger. Some people with osteoarthritis report that using ginger regularly helps reduce the pain and swelling in their joints.
Remember, the best way to protect your joints is to eat a wide variety of nutritious foods. You have a much better chance of getting all the vitamins and minerals you need if your diet includes an assortment of different foods, than if you eat the same thing every day.
Avoid food with vegetable oil for acne free
As there are various acne treatments available in the market, just recently read the acneticin reviews, I thought it may help solve this skin problem if we get rid of the food that causes worst acne. I learned that there are some food causes acne, some don’t and some fight against it. One of the foods that I’ve searched is the vegetable oil. It can be found in some sauces like pasta and curry sauce. However not all have this specific type of oil, that’s why it’s important to check ingredients label before buying sauces.
Why vegetable oil causes acne? It causes homonal imbalance that leads to serious inflammation and results in acne. So cutting it out of your diet will get rid of those really nasty cysts.
Personally we don’t use vegetable oil anymore. Oftentimes I use olive oil for our cooking. I suggest you do the same. Find out also which foods you eat contain vegetable oil and try to look for some alternative. Once you stop eating food that has significant amounts of vegetable oil you will have gotten rid of the worst of your acne and will start to balance your hormones. Not only your acne clears up, but your oil levels will balance out too.
For healthy hair and prevent hair loss
Hair loss is a common factor among men and women and most of us face this kind of problem. As you can see in the market today, there are lots of hair loss cure that can be used for treatment.
On the other hand, following a healthy diet plan can also prevent hair loss. I’ve read in a magazine some of the foods that will promote hair growth and make it healthy too:
~ Egg
~ Green leafy vegetables
~ Salmon
~ Beans
~ Nuts
~ Oranges
~ Whole grains
~ Poultry
~ Low-Fat Dairy Products
~ Water. This is the most important of all. Good hydration is needed for a healthy body and healthy hair.
Aside from the above food, it’s also helpful to have strong hairs if you limit alcohol intake, stop smoking and regular exercise.
Exercise and Dietary strategy to boost hgh
I just finished reading article about hgh or the human growth hormone. Honestly I’m not really aware how it function in our body not until I stumbled that article and it’s quite interesting. There are even hgh pills available that contains herbal ingredients to boost production of hgh. Another way for optimizing hgh is by following some exercise and dietary strategies. Here’s the suggestion:
* Exercise – three sessions per week, each involving at least 10 minutes’ work above lactate threshold or a number of sprints, with a 1:3 work-rest ratio;
* Before exercise – no fat for 60 minutes before, 2g glutamine 60-90 minutes before;
* During exercise – plenty of plain water (ie 200 ml every 10-15 minutes if training in 18-21°C);
* After exercise – avoid sugar for two hours post exercise but take 25g protein immediately afterwards in the form of either a protein shake, protein bar, lean meat or eggs (although you should limit your consumption of eggs to avoid too much cholesterol).
Eating Nutritious food
I learned last weekend that one of my new acquaintances from the church has a cancer and already on stage 2. I was deeply saddened by hearing that news. We all know the possibilities and consequences of this illness. And like any other cancer patients, they often want to fight it in every way possible.
I remember reading an article from Mesothelioma treatment site, (by the way Mesothelioma is also a form of cancer in the linings of the chest or abdomen caused by exposure to asbestos) that eating a balanced diet that consists of whole grains, proteins, fruits and vegetables enables the body to function properly and adequately fight infection and illness. It emphasize that nutritious eating is a wonderful way to instill hope and equip the immune system with positive fuel. The food and nutrients that we put into our bodies greatly affect the ability to heal and fight disease.
However take note also that eating nutritious food while actively fighting the illness through treatment may not cure the cancer, but fighting the disease from every angle will give patients the best possible outlook. And I think that’s one possible thing we can tell to our friends who is going thru this phase of life.
Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are very common and can happen to anyone. Fortunately, it can be treated and you can find best hemorrhoid treatment in the market. And once your hemorrhoids heal, stay free of pain by choosing the right food.
Increased straining from constipation or diarrhea are common causes of hemorrhoids. And constipation is due to low-fiber diet, insufficient water, too much lactic acid from dairy products, or a vitamin E deficiency. Also try avoiding much coffee, alcohol, bad fats, animal products and red meat, as they may cause constipation as well. Instead try eating foods with high fibers from fruits and vegetables. It is best to eat at least 25-35 grams as most people eat only 8 – 12 grams per day.
Preventing hemorrhoids is the best way to deal with them. Hence, we should always keep in mind: to eat wide range of fresh fruits and vegetables, lead a physically active lifestyle, and drink plenty of water.
