Lechon bread

My first time to see bread shaped like a pig or they called it “lechon” bread. This is from Julie’s bakeshop and a friend just gave it to us. Nothing really special with the taste, it’s plain ordinary bread with few raisins inside. What’s really interesting is the shape… Kids kept laughing when they saw it… and funny thing they don’t want to slice or touch any part of it, haha….
Dampa
Before talking about the yummy food, let me share this site I chanced upon where you can find a lot of sales job available. So for those reading my blog and looking for an exciting career on sales, you may visit www.salesheads.com and I’m sure you can find the job you’re looking for. Check it out!
Now going back to foodies…. Last month I was able to meet my online friends for the first time and we had lunch together with their families at Dampa, that’s what they called the place at the seaside. So what we have for lunch:

We have buttered shrimps, Crabs, Sinigang and Pork Liempo. Aside from that there’s also Squid, Mussels and some more but I cannot remember already, LOL! And what can I say, all were delicious! I’m hoping we could go back again on that place soon…
Dinner at Sentro
It was our first day in Manila when we had dinner with my previous colleagues at Sentro Restaurant, Greenbelt. Since we arrived early at Makati, we tour around the mall first doing a little shopping. Yet still early for the meeting time, we stayed at the bookstore and my sister was looking for books about binoculars. Then went to the restaurant few minutes before the time…. It’s nice to see my former colleagues again and we had fun chatting and eating yummy food at Sentro… Here some of the foods we ordered:

Sinigang na corned beef was their specialty but forgot to take photo… hahaha….
Sentro Restaurant located the 2nd floor of Greenbelt 3… if you haven’t tried their food yet, then it’s time to visit the place. I’m sure you will love it.
Banana-Q
One fun thing to do when you’re on vacation is to eat most of the time, right? So I think it’s important to include on our packing list any best weight loss pills to combat those fats and have a good time pigging out, hahaha….
Anyway, one of the foods I miss eating in Manila is the Banana-Q. It is basically a deep saging saba (Cardava Bananas) coated with caramelized sugar and put in bamboo skewer, which you can see on the photo below…

And you guess it right that’s our snack for the last few days…
I’m glad my son likes it and that’s why we have that food every afternoon.
Okonomiyaki with cheese
Cheese is one of my favorite foods and it’s the most common food eaten today. I usually use it on a variety of foods such as pasta, sandwiches and many more… I read on one article that cheese can cause a lot of problems for the acne sufferer so I tried to lessen that however, last weekend when we have our dinner at Times Square I can’t resists this yummy cheesy food… ![]()

That’s Okonomiyaki with cheese… yummy!
It’s my first time to try this food with cheese and indeed was great. The cheese on top melt already and it’s mixed with the noodles so the more it was tasty. Well never mind with the acne for the meantime anyway a lot of acne cleanser available, haha…
So the next time you stop at any Japanese restaurant try to look for this and I’m sure you gonna love it!
Yoshinoya Shabu-Shabu

The shabu-shabu was just in time…
I was talking to a friend on the phone regarding the insurance quotes I stumbled on the Internet and right after our discussion, the food was ready…
A hotpot from Yoshinoya, one of our favorite restaurants to eat. Whenever I’m lazy to prepare food at home, Yoshinoya to the rescue.
It was a bit cold that night and we decided to have a shabu-shabu. We ordered one set and I think just enough for us. A yummy dinner indeed!
Freshly baked Almond Chews

I remember the day when I baked this, I had a phone call offering for a cheap insurance, but since I’m busy I wasn’t able to attend to the salesman offer, hehe…
I baked this last week during my son’s birthday (March 24) and this shot was taken right after I removed it from the oven…. hmmm, smell was great! LOL! I’m tempted to try one slice of this almond chews but this type needs to cool first before slicing… one thing that I have to remember always so it will really taste great. This is one of my favorite slices to bake and my boys love it!
Spinach Pesto
I have this pizza snack while browsing some vacation spots on the internet including checking on Outer Banks vacation rentals… yeah, summer is few months to go…..

Anyway, it’s our first time to try this pizza, which can be bought at the supermarket. Just need to heat for 9 – 10 minutes at the oven and it’s ready for eating. And what we can say…. So yummy!
My 6-yr old son loves it… at first he was hesitant because of the green leaves on it but I told him to just try first and surprisingly he loves it that he was able to finish half of the whole pizza, hahahaha! Actually you cannot really taste the spinach but instead the cheese that goes with it…. Really great! I told the husband we can buy again another box next time…
weight loss and the mini cupcakes
After writing my title I just thought there’s a conflict in between, haha… here’s a lady trying to lose weight but then munching on sweet cupcakes haha…
Anyway, I’m always wondering how to lose weight but then the truth I eat a lot of sweets. And everyday whenever I’m working in front of my pc I have a food at the side, LOL! I’m afraid I might end up on weight loss surgery solution just to achieve and maintain a healthier weight. Uh-oh. That’s also the reason why the husband doesn’t want me to bake often as he can eat a lot too, haha!
Now let me show you the mini cupcakes. This sure adds to my weight but still I bought it… and that’s my snack for today- the mini butter cupcakes.

I saw this at the bakeshop in front of our building and I was interested to try. But I also have another reason why I bought it, I want to see how’s the packaging done and all… in other words, I’m inspired to do such thing, hehehe… yeah! I just thought a nice gift for somebody or a favor for a birthday party… got the idea, hehe… so that’s it, the mini butter cupcakes…
Now time to open and eat it away, hehe…. Ciao!
{my} birthday dinner
I celebrated my birthday 2 and half weeks ago and obviously this is a late post for that. I have this topic listed on my draft but then I was busy the last few weeks so I wasn’t able to finish and published it. Well, there’s actually no big celebration during that day. I could wish for something like Samsung Blu-ray DVD player but then a little treat for myself was only my request. And I’m glad I got it. After I spent 4 hours at the salon (that’s the treat!), we had dinner at Bistro Delifrance at Times Square. And these what we have ordered:

Sorry if a little blurred as I took these photos using my phone only. Well, it was only a simple celebration together with my boys but I was indeed happy especially I have a new hairdo that day, LOL!
