Eating Nutritious food
I learned last weekend that one of my new acquaintances from the church has a cancer and already on stage 2. I was deeply saddened by hearing that news. We all know the possibilities and consequences of this illness. And like any other cancer patients, they often want to fight it in every way possible.
I remember reading an article from Mesothelioma treatment site, (by the way Mesothelioma is also a form of cancer in the linings of the chest or abdomen caused by exposure to asbestos) that eating a balanced diet that consists of whole grains, proteins, fruits and vegetables enables the body to function properly and adequately fight infection and illness. It emphasize that nutritious eating is a wonderful way to instill hope and equip the immune system with positive fuel. The food and nutrients that we put into our bodies greatly affect the ability to heal and fight disease.
However take note also that eating nutritious food while actively fighting the illness through treatment may not cure the cancer, but fighting the disease from every angle will give patients the best possible outlook. And I think that’s one possible thing we can tell to our friends who is going thru this phase of life.
