Mooncake

Food Friday

It’s the season of mooncake here in Hongkong. Well actually last Saturday was the Mid-atumn Festival. We don’t really buy mooncakes unless my son needs to bring in school for their Mid-Autumn activities but this year they’re not required. And how come we have a mooncake? :) This one coming from the husband’s office and that’s why we don’t buy any mooncake because yearly they’re given at the office.

Mooncakes are Chinese pastries traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival / Zhongqiu Festival. The festival is for lunar worship and moon watching; moon cakes are regarded as an indispensable delicacy on this occasion. Mooncakes are offered between friends or on family gatherings while celebrating the festival, one of the three most important Chinese festivals.

Honestly I don’t like the taste of mooncake. Well I eat the crust but not the filling. There are actually different types of filling but still I don’t eat it, hahaha. There’s also a snowy kind of mooncake and they said it taste good. The husband was able to try one in Durian flavor, ;) his favorite and yes the smell remains, hehehe…

Ok, that’s it… my Food friday entry… Thanks for looking! Happy Wekeend to all!
