Pinoy goodies overload
Last week my sister arrived here in Hong Kong for one week vacation and among the stuff she brought for us were foods that we missed from Philippines… What else but these…

And my cousin also sent us Bangus fillet, which was mixed already. I wrapped this with spring roll wrapper.

Aside from those pinoy foods, she was able to bring also the stuff I have asked her to buy in Manila like medicines and vitamins. I’m glad everything was complete. Thanks Sis!

The Car Cake
I know it’s silly but right now I’m already thinking of the birthday cake for my son, LOL! His birthday will be 6 months from now, hehe…. and we might do a party for him. The little boy always tells us that he’d like to have a birthday party. He came to that thinking after attending different parties of his classmate. Anyway, as I browsed online, I found these McQueen cake with cupcakes and I loveee it!! Migs is a big fan of cars and he loves car racing. In fact he’s collecting different hotwheels cars. And mind you he even knows some of the auto accessories that go with cars. That’s why when I saw this cake; I have to save it so I have a reference later on. I’m sure the little kiddo will definitely like this…

Mushroom meat patties with oats
Every time I found recipe on the newspaper, I’ll cut it and that will be part of my compilation. Just few weeks ago, the husband brought an old newspaper. He knows I’m fond of answering the sudoku game on it. But aside from that game, I checked if there’s recipe included. I thought there’s nothing on that issue as I saw mostly were photos of steel buildings and other construction but it was almost the last part where I found this healthy recipe and it’s under the health & beauty section. I haven’t tried it yet but since we’re fan of oatmeal, I’m sure this taste really great.
I have below the recipe if you want to try too.
6 Tbsp instant oatmeal
380g minced lean pork
8 pcs Chinese blackmushroom
6 pcs water chestnut
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp corn starch
1 Tbsp water

Dinner at Yururi
One of my former officemates and also my son’s godfather was here in Hong Kong for a business trip and so last Friday night we went out for dinner together with my 2 boys and another friend. We went to a Japanese restaurant and enjoyed a yummy foodies…

Since I have a little boy in tow, I didn’t have the chance to take shots of our food, hahaha… hence the photo above was taken outside of the restaurant while we’re waiting for our seat. But if you will ask what did I order? Well, the okonomiyaki but this time a seafood filling with noodles… yum yum… now that’s my new favorite! Hahaha……
What I like with this place is private and quiet. A great place for dates or dine-in with bunch of friends.
Yururi is located at T02, 3/F, Hang Lung Centre, 2-20 Paterson Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. If you happen to visit HK, try it.
Good food. Nice place.
Though few months from now, year 2009 is over I’m still looking forward for a long family getaway soon. We didn’t have our long vacation this summer but hubby and I were planning for a relaxing time if not this year then hopefully early next year. As I’m browsing online, I’ve seen various Family Vacations packages that are totally interesting. One of which is the Azul Sensatori, a family-oriented place wherein kids and the whole family gang will enjoy. Not to mention the foodies that everybody can experience such this:

And if you check the site, you will see different photos of the place and the highlights that the family will benefit from. Truly a nice place with good food.
Over a year
I didn’t notice this food blog of mine turned one year last July, LOL! I just remembered it while I’m checking my hosting account and browse on web site directories. Well, I’m glad I was able to maintain this blog for that long. I enjoyed sharing recipes that I’ve done and searched online. Actually this has been my online recipe journal since I use this as my reference for any recipe that I would like to cook again but forget some of the ingredients.
Also I stapled here other recipes I chanced upon while net surfing so I kept coming back. In fact, I bookmarked this on my iphone for easy access… Well, belated happy 1st year blog anniversary to Kitchen Deelite. Hoping for another and successful year to come!
Chewy Cheese Double
My little boy’s latest favorite!
Chewy Cheese Double from KFC…

Few weeks ago KFC introduced this Chewy Cheese double and my son just love it! Every time we’re going to dine-in at KFC, this one is always part of his order. And as he eat them, he would pull it that way as what the ads look like…
He would even said to pull it slowly so that the cheese will not break apart, hahaha…
Well, it taste good and a big hit with the kids.
Household appliances
Yesterday I was browsing various second hand household appliances and most of them were less than a year old only. The thought of sending few items back home made me interested. Anyway there are heavy-duty kitchen moving boxes available in case we plan to send big bulk of appliances.
On the list there were coffee maker, food steamer, air purifier, microwave oven and even dishwasher. I kept coming back on that dishwasher LOL! as I’m itching to buy one before. Now that I found it, not sure if I’m going to buy or not, hahaha! I’m afraid our electricity bill might shoot up this time… Well, let’s see if we can squeeze few items on our budget… I’d love to get microwave for my mom. Prices were cheaper anyway so I hope the husband would agree.
Okonomiyaki with Noodles
My first time to try this and really great! It’s a Japanese food and has veggies and noodles inside. The serving was big enough for 2 people. Hubby and I shared with this one but after I ate my share I still want some more… so maybe next time, I can finish one plate… yay! It’s all veggies anyway, hahaha!

Thanks for looking! Happy Wekeend to all!
