Cleaning up Sink Drain

Since I’m in-charge with the kitchen everyday, I make sure our sink is always clean, free from odors and clogs. I don’t want to experience clogged drains again just like in our previous house. I hate it when the dirt stays on the sink and gives bad odor and eventually have stain…
Anyway, I have few simple steps below that I follow to keep drains odor free and draining properly:

1. Run very hot tap water every few days through the drain.
2. Put a tablespoon of baking soda into the kitchen drain once a week and slowly pour in lemon juice and let it stand for 30 minutes. Then run hot water through the drain to eliminate minor buildups and odors.
3. Consider buying a drain cleaner solution if you have drains you can’t clear out naturally. This is what we use with our problem in our previous house.

Don’t wait until you have a big problem with your sink.
So whether it is a stainless sink or one of those zero radius sinks, cleaning and making them free from unwanted items is a good way to start.
