Shopping Tips
If you’re an impulse buyer like me then I guess these tips applies to you as well, especially focus in doing your food grocery:
1. Before you go to the supermarket, have a list of the things you need to buy. Cross out the items once you’ve put them in your cart.
2. Familiarize yourself with the layout of the supermarket so you can go systematically from aisle to aisle.
3. Take advantage of the free tastes offered in the supermarket. This is a good chance to learn about new products. ==> we often do this.
4. Early mornings are the best times to shop, when most people are in their offices and the aisles are not crowded. And of course if you’re buying veggies or meats at the supermarket, you can get at least the fresh ones in the morning.
5. Wear comfortable shoes. Shopping for groceries entails a lot of walking.
6. To find out what goods are available, you may check the websites or importers and suppliers. Many of them post their new products on their websites.
Birthday foodies
It was my birthday last Friday.
There wasn’t a big celebration but we had a small gathering with some friends at Island Resort. It was a shared birthday blow out because one of our friends will be celebrating birthday this week, so the two of us shared the expenses…
We just ordered 2 large pizzas from Pizzabox and KFC’s chicken. I baked Almond Chews slice for our dessert and that’s it!

KFC chicken

I forgot to take photo of my Almond chews, hehe… it was a hit and I’m glad everybody likes it…
Thanks for looking. Have a wonderful Monday to all!
Pancit Bihon (Stir-fried Vermicelli)

I guess almost all Filipinos love this Pansit Bihon and usually present during birthdays. In our household, the husband would love to cook this. I love it. And that particular photo was taken during hubby’s post birthday treat to our friends few weeks ago.
Thanks for looking. Have a great Friday everyone!
Fish Sarciado (Fish Steak)
2 Sundays ago, I asked the husband to buy a tanguige (Spanish Mackerel) because part of my menu plan was the Fried fish steak that I’m planning to cook. I’m so delighted to see he bought big ones, which was really nice.
So last week I cooked this Fish Sarciado but instead of frying the fish I have it cooked in oven.

Then added the mixture of garlic, onions and tomatoes over the cooked fish and that enhanced the flavor of the fish… it’s yum!
I have the recipe below just in case you’d like to do it…
Chocolate Mousse cake
This is one of the love recipes I got from City Super’s free valentines’ day issue newspaper. Haven’t tried it yet (hence no photo to show) but sounds easy and no need to bake. I’ll try if I can whip this on Friday night or Saturday…
And here’s how if you’d like to have one for the Valentines Day…
Ingredients: (serving size 6)
6 large eggs (separate egg white and yolk)
2/3 cup sugar
8oz semi-sweet cooking chocolate (broken into pieces)
2 cups whipping cream
Procedure:
1. Beat egg yolks and half of the sugar together until thick and creamy.
2. Place chocolate and cream on top of a double boiler. Place over simmering water. Cook, Stirring until chocolate melts and mixture is combined. Now combine with egg yolk mixture.
3. In another mixing bowl, beat egg whites and remaining sugar togther untils oft peaks form.
4. Fold chocolate mixture into egg white mixture and mix until just combined. Pour into a round dish.
5. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
Enjoy your choco mousse… I’d love to see if you have done it okies…
